“Bowfin Virtual Tour”

Objective:

Provide a virtual tour of the Bowfin submarine, for visitors who are unable to go aboard or don’t choose to tour the real submarine docked outside the museum. Highlight the major sections and systems of a typical WWII submarine and include images of submariners living and working on board in an augmented reality style production.

Services:

Research, interactive development, video shoot and postproduction, content development in collaboration with the MIG Portico and PFSM staff, graphic design, and software development.

Description:

Visitors explore videos taken within the Bowfin, giving them an impression of walking through the actual submarine. Systems and technologies on board are highlighted. Still images of crew members on board are interspersed and overlaid on the video segments to show the cramped quarters and to bring the past to life.
