“Nuclear Propulsion”

Objective:

Teach visitors about a submarine’s nuclear propulsion system by manipulating a virtual throttle and watching the system respond.

Services:

Research, interactive development, animation, content development in collaboration with the MIG Portico and PFSM staff, graphic design, and software development.

Description:

Visitors interact with the large screen animation via a touch screen station linked to an animated diagram of a submarine’s nuclear propulsion system. The animation highlights different parts of the system. Visitors can manipulate reactor operation or steam throttle controls to vary the speed of the propeller in the large screen image.
