“Search for Lost Subs / On Eternal Patrol”

Objective:

To create a memorial to the sacrifice of submariners by offering visitors the opportunity to learn about those who lost their lives in the line of duty, and, to move visitors with stories of the stealth, skill, and bravery required of the “silent service.” Lastly, another objective was to collect stories from visitors’ memories or about their relatives.

Services:

Research, interactive development, content development, graphic design, animation, and software development including content management system.

Description:

Visitors face a large mural made up of a mosaic of 4584 submariners’ photos. An accompanying interactive kiosk allows them to locate their relatives’ locations on the giant mural and to find out more about them, their boats, their crews, and in some cases, see footage of the underwater search to find the lost subs post WWII.
