“Sub-Saharan Teaching Interactive”

THE CLEVELAND MUSEUM OF ART,
CLEVELAND, OH

Objective:

Open up the Ejagham headdress to deep cultural exploration, enabling teachers and students to understand and appreciate the context from whence the object came.

Services:

Concept development, graphic design, and systems and software development.

Description:

This teaching interactive provides zoom and 360-degree views of the headdress, creating an intimate experience with the item that would not be possible with the artifact itself. Videos, audio clips, images, regional and route maps, questions for class discussion, and other exploratory and thought-provoking materials about the Ejagham culture take the headdress out of the static environment of the museum and place it back in its living ethnographic context, helping visitors see how it fits into the Ejagham way of life.
