“Northwest Maritime Welcome Center “

Port Townsend, WA

Objective:

Transform the NWMC’s retail space (at the time called “The Chandlery”) into a Maritime Visitors Center. The visitor center would need to contain retail and serve as the front desk for all NWMC activities; a key stop-in for tourists and locals alike; and an opportunity to showcase the breadth and depth of offerings through permanent and changing exhibit elements. It would also need to serve as a hub for maritime information, activities, and connections.

Services:

Exhibit design, wayfinding, interactive development, content development guidance, graphic design, production, and fabrication oversight.

Description:

Visitors can explore the breadth of NWMC’s activities and offerings, sign up easily for activities and events, and find connections to maritime information via informative exhibits catering to all ages that share the history and traditions of Port Townsend’s maritime legacy, as well as maritime culture and activities today.
