“John Wesley’s House & Museum of Methodism”

MUSEUM OF METHODISM,
LONDON, UK

Objective:

Update the museum to attract Methodists and non-Methodists alike and to reflect core tenets of the religion in the design of the gallery.

Services:

Target audience analysis, main message, exhibit vision and goals, and exhibition concept design.

Description:

The proposed exhibit elucidates and universalizes the pillars of this belief system and also relates visitors to Wesley not only as a theologian, but a man. We designed the space to parallel the central beliefs of the religion; the more crucial the tenets, the more centrally they are displayed, working from the the periphery of the gallery toward the center. Though we emphasized Methodism, we organized the exhibit around themes that transcend the boundaries of one religious discipline and appeal to visitors on a human level.
